In order to get to Bald Head Island, you have to take a 20-minute ferry ride which departs from the ferry terminal at Deep Point Marina in historic Southport NC. If you're flying in, then the closest international airport is New Hanover International Airport in Wilmington NC. The airport is 35 miles north of Southport.
If you're driving to Deep Point Marina, then you'll want to take Highway 17. Southport is 30 miles south of Wilmington NC and 60 miles north of Myrtle Beach SC. If you're driving in from the west, then you'll take Interstate 40 and Highway 74/76 to I-95.
Deep Point Marina is located at 1301 Ferry Road in Southport NC. Once you enter Southport, take Route 211 South (Howe Street), then take a left on East Moore Street and then a right onto Ferry Road at the roundabout. Proceed about a half mile and you will come to the entrance to Deep Point Marina on the right. Turn in and follow the signs to the ferry terminal. Round-trip tickets cost $24.75 for adults, $13.75 for children ages 3-12. There is no charge for children ages two and younger.
